Thunderbird Leadership Consulting helps clients in various industries with assessments, strategic planning, facilitation, coaching, training, presentations and learning communities to speed the process of achieving organizational goals.
Facilitation
Given the need to help groups come to consensus, a participatory facilitation approach is used to move the organization towards its goals. We focus on process not content and work with the leader to move the group to an outcome. We facilitate individual meetings or a series of sessions to plan for change, develop implementation strategies, make decisions or solve problems. We meet with the client to understand needs, plan the agenda, and design sessions/meetings to best attain the goals.
Assessment
Using the Organizational Life Cycle Model, an organizational assessment is conducted to identify the level of performance and to target appropriate activities to improve effectiveness and performance. The six cycles include Turnaround/Start-Up, Stabilization, Performance/Quality, Growth, Innovation and Industry Leadership. Cycle-specific tools and interventions are recommended to assist the organization in achieving its goals.
Presentations
Members of the Thunderbird team are available to speak at conferences, workshops, seminars and professional meetings. Presentations are tailored to meet your specific needs. Examples of our topics include: innovation, change management, talent management, developing high-reliability organizations, patient safety, transformational leadership, positive deviance, Magnet preparation and diversity and inclusion.
Training
There are times when individuals, groups or organizations need specific skill development. The Thunderbird Leadership Consulting team brings expertise in numerous areas that ensure folks have the soft-side knowledge and skills to do what needs to be done.
These include skills in communication, collaboration, conflict resolution and customer service among others. Thunderbird Leadership designs trainings with your specific goals in mind.
Strategic Planning
By applying a process of Appreciative Inquiry, strategic planning moves the organization forward and keeps leaders focused on priorities. Operational plans are developed in a facilitated process involving critical stakeholders. Inspired Actions are reviewed in periodic assessments to celebrate success and refine the plans.
You can expect our strategic planning work with you to include: interviews with critical players, development of 1-2 year strategic and operational plans, creating charters for each high-level strategy, defining action plans, monitoring performance and reviewing annually and adjusting as needed.
Learning Communities
Over the course of working with numerous clients, Thunderbird has identified themes and interests that are shared across different organizations and groups. Thunderbird Leadership initiates opportunities to connect clients with shared interests through one-time or ongoing Learning Communities where leaders can share best practices, problem solve challenges and celebrate successes. Team Coaching
Team coaching is a dynamic process in which we partner with the organizational leader to engage the senior or executive team in a series of sessions over a period of 12-24 months. The sessions are designed to move the team to peak performance. The key is having the leader set clear expectations so that there is alignment with individual and organizational goals. It is a facilitated process designed to systematically focus the team on organization priorities while addressing planned and unplanned change. Coupled with executive coaching, the team realizes their goals more quickly and with greater synergy.
