The session that was most beneficial to me was the one where we talked about addressing normalized behaviors. The group scenarios that we practiced helped me prepare for tough conversations that I often don’t deal with. It was also interesting to see the approach from staff members from different departments. Practicing these scenarios helped me understand what I need to do to resolve a situation in an appropriate manner.

I learned about the importance of DiSC and the many traits associated with each of the different styles. Going through this program has taught me how to work effectively with other DiSC styles who I may come across in my work setting. I also learned approaches that could help me address normalized behaviors in a professional setting. I am also more vigilant of people’s nonverbal behavior.

Since joining the…team, acquiring the help of the Thunderbird Leadership Consulting to work with developing us as leaders has been one of the best decisions made by [our] executive leadership team.

I think the most important concept learned through the teaming work is that fundamental personality and work styles fundamentally impact the ability of teams to be successful. It is a powerful awakening to understand how each person’s learning or working style affects the work environment, and how styles can either mesh or conflict to the benefit or detriment of a team. The ability to recognize each person’s style and be mindful of [how] it impacts the work of a team or a work relationship, is a powerful tool.

I have learned to be more mindful of my colleagues’ styles and approaches to their work and to be mindful of my style and how it can conflict or dominate the dynamics in the team. I am learning to be more reflective, and more sensitive to others’ needs and interests, and how to draw out their best and share my best self in moderation.

All sessions were very helpful, but I really enjoyed the session where we got to define who we are as a Leadership Team, our purpose for gathering, the roles we play, and the expectations of one another. I also really enjoyed and appreciated the one-on-one leadership coaching sessions we had.

I have a clearer understanding of the role of the leadership team and the expectations for us to work together on both transactional and transformational needs of our organization.
