Since 2007, Thunderbird has worked alongside leaders and organizations as they navigate growth, change, difficult decisions, stronger teams, and the work of building organizations that can perform and endure.
Some leaders do infinitely more than achieve results. They shape people, strengthen organizations, and build cultures capable of lasting impact. Their influence is often felt long after the moment has passed.
Thunderbird Laureates of Leadership™ grew from that experience. It is our way of recognizing leadership worth studying, sharing, and carrying forward.
Recognition is grounded in firsthand observations and converging evidence, so the distinction reflects how a leader has actually been experienced by others.

HOW RECOGNITION WORKS
A meaningful distinction is built on a thoughtful process.
A nomination begins the story. The nominee confirms participation, and independent witness input adds another firsthand perspective. Judges consider the evidence together so recognition is grounded in demonstrated leadership, specific examples, and meaningful impact.
Nomination
Someone who has seen the leader’s work begins the nomination.
Nominee + Witness
The nominee confirms participation. One independent witness is required; a second is encouraged.
Evidence Review
The full body of evidence is considered across behaviors, influence, and outcomes.
Laureate Selection
Recognition reflects the leadership demonstrated and the expression best supported by the evidence.
INTEGRITY BY DESIGN
Participation and recognition carry no nomination, judging, finalist, recipient, sponsorship, plaque, membership, or promotional fees.
LAUREATESHIP
Laureateship is an enduring distinction.
Recognition begins an ongoing relationship. Laureate stories are preserved and shared so others can understand what meaningful leadership looks like in practice. The 2026 Founding Class will be announced November 20.
